Education & Career

Choose Right Public Schools or Private Schools and after school profit or non-profit learning center programs for our kids:

Our Canadian provincial schools are rated and ranked by Canadian Fraser Institute while Colleges and universities are rated and ranked by Canadian High School Guidance Educators, Administrators, University Admission Counselors, Faculty Heads and CEOs of top notch Canadian Companies and posted in National McLeans Publication for last 20 years.

Similarly in Bangla Town, Toronto at Victoria Park-Danforth area or GTA’s after school programs run by profit sector credit granting private school, learning centers and non-profit community agencies or after school time run by public schools and public libraries have some limitations or rating that we parents must know to guide our children.

Foreign trained teachers and private school principals in GTA without private school and public school principal qualification by Ontario College of Teachers and these schools granting credits to our public school failing students with higher marks for university admission will never be equal to Canadian public schools and Local Canadian educated, trained and licensed teachers or principals by local Canadian or global rating and ranking of schools and educators.

Parents and students must ponder upon Canadian Private After School Learning Centers & Credit Granting Schools run by below 500 global ranking university trained teachers will never be equal to top 20 world ranking Cdn U. educated, trained & public school teachers doing same.

Sometime parents without job have no choice to send the children after school to their home school remedial program or nearby public library open for home work every Tuesday 4-6 pm or Access Alliance open every Monday 4-6 pm or Bangladeshi Canadian Community Services, Ont. Bamgladeshi Educators Community Services, Catholic Cross Cultural Services every Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Most of our learning centers have Canadian teaching license or teacher education with certificate by some or few or all teachers  but not every learning center has right environment for academic and character educational learning and teaching or tutoring of our children.

Parents who can afford some monthly budget each month for each child from own income or the child tax money, it is better to find the best knowledgeable and experienced learning centers with certified teachers besides subject strength.

The main point of this educational column is when we parents send our children to local profit or non-profit learning centers most of us are not aware of features of the learning centers for instance community agency(ACCESS Alliance, BCS, CCCS even TPL) learning centers are not run by Cdn certified and experienced teachers but peers tutors help lower grade children than his/her own grade.

Most of the Profit sector learning centers do not have Canadian real public school system teaching or administrative experiences regarding both curriculum and extra-curriculum involvement and support of individual student by his/her unique interest, ability, need and family financial, ethnic and faith background.

Parents must investigate the following features of each learning center before shopping around all the features below but not just the pay rate:

1. Find Tutorial Teacher-Student Ratio of 1:3 is good

2. Visit the center personally with child

3. Check in each learning center office asking to see original teaching certificate and latest annual qualification record card of teachers posted in the learning center

4. Ask and check about improvement and previous and current annual success rate of the learning center students

5. Find if the tutors or teachers and administrators of learning have latest knowledge about not the subjects contents only but also Ontario curriculum and any latest publication like “Growing Success 2010” publication on instructional delivery, assessment, evaluation and reporting

6. Check if the learning center teachers have been checking with giving consequences or taking action to improve our children regarding our their lateness, absences, learning skills and marks of each strand by each subject after each term report card of the student collected from parent

7. Consult with your child’s school teacher when this learning center teacher can not help or go to after school certified teacher-tutor who has experience of Day school teaching experience at your child’s school board for instance in GTA: Toronto, Peel, Durham and York Region Public School Boards

8. Never take decision about your child’s future after consulting with administrator of after school learning centers’ peer students or public school teaching inexperienced teachers of these after school learning centers

9. Always talk to the right person and top position of responsibility official on school matters of your child for any serious issue as we contact our children’s school classroom teachers, guidance counselors, social workers, psychologists, vice-principals, principals and locar ward school trustee on his/her school matters

10. If your after school learning centers teachers have both day school teaching, guidance counseling and administrative experience besides after school learning center service they would serve you with best possible information, counseling, advocacy and referrals.

11. Contact Carolyn Ancho or Tony Lena @ Ministry of Education @ 4163256098if you find any controversial or didhonest private schools (eg: TCI, A PLUS Academy)damagin your children future in the long run giving boasting mark in the short run for failing mark in any subject (the Ministry of Education  maintain your name as secret).

Please empower own self and other parents with above 5 tips and just do not focus on hourly or monthly rate of the learning center but find who can serve you the best going beyond the tutorial service in the long run by mentoring, monitoring, ministering and role modeling to make the child successful by the will, mercy, blessing, wisdom, protection and guidance of our sustaining Lord.
